![]() Jack Appleman About SGInstructorJack E. Appleman Jack E. Appleman is an award-winning writer with more than 20 years' experience as a trainer, PR/communication professional, and professor. As president of SG Communications (www.sgwriting.com), he conducts writing workshops that enable corporate employees at all levels to write more productively. Jack has just written a book, Ten Steps to Successful Business Writing, published by ASTD Press. He speaks frequently on writing and communication skills and has published several articles. These include a column, "Business writing training can boost productivity," in Human Resource Executive Magazine (http://www.sgwriting.com/includes/pdf/training.pdf.) and another that won him a 2007 Business Marketing Association Impact Award. In his career, Jack has written copy and supervised other writers creating a wide array of documents. These efforts have helped many companies achieve their communication goals. As a professor, Jack teaches writing and communication courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University and William Paterson University, both in New Jersey. He also teaches continuing education-credit classes on business writing for insurance producers and offers one-on-one writing coaching. Jack received his BA in Communication from Ohio State University, Columbus, and his master of science degree in journalism from Ohio University, Athens. He earned the Certified Business Communicator (CBC) designation from the Business Marketing Association (BMA). Jack is a past president of BMA's New Jersey chapter and serves as vice president of marketing for the northern New Jersey chapter of the American Society for Training & Development. Jack E.
